9-Day Weather Forecast General Situation: A strong to gale northeast monsoon will persist over the coast of Guangdong in the next couple of days. Tropical Cyclone Lionrock is expected to move towards the vicinity of Hainan Island today. Under the combined effect of the northeast monsoon and Lionrock, it will be windy with heavy rain and squalls over the coast of Guangdong from Friday to Sunday at first. A dry continental airstream will bring generally fine weather to southern China early next week. The broad area of low pressure now to the east of the Philippines is expected to develop progressively and move towards the vicinity of Luzon early next week. It may enter and move across the northern part of the South China Sea, edging closer to the coast of southern China.
