9-Day Weather Forecast General Situation: An anticyclone aloft will bring very hot weather to southern China today and tomorrow. Tropical Cyclone Ma-on is expected to enter the northeastern part of the South China Sea tonight, edging closer to the coast of Guangdong and intensifying gradually on Wednesday and Thursday. There will be heavy squally showers and thunderstorms over the region. The weather will be windy and seas will be rough with swells. The landfall position and intensity of Ma-on still remain uncertain. With the anticyclone aloft strengthening again, showers will ease off gradually in the latter part of this week.
